Sergei Rachmaninoff

Group A: Sophia Cheng
Group B: Mai Sakamoto
A competition is open to pianists of all nationalities ages 12 and older.
Winners of a competition will receive cash prizes and an invitation to perform during our festival in the fall of 2023 at the Academy of Music, Philadelphia.
Application Deadline: extended through August 25, 2024

1) High-quality video (YouTube link)
Only memorized solo repertoire will be accepted (no concertos or chamber music)
2) Online application
3) Non-refundable application fee of $100
Program:
Group A: Ages 12-17
One composition of S. Rachmaninoff and one composition of any Russian composer with a duration no longer than 20 min.
Prize: $1000
Group B: Ages 18 and older
One or more compositions of S. Rachmaninoff and of any Russian composer with a duration no longer than 45 min.
Prize: $2000
Competition Rules:
The jury has a right to divide prizes or not to award any prizes whatsoever. Jury members will be announced after the list of participants is finalized. Only members of the jury, whose students do not participate, will be invited to judge this competition.
In case the winners are unable to travel to Philadelphia for the final performance at the festival, they are still eligible to receive their awards via mail.
Participants who do not receive money awards, but successfully pass an audition, will be invited to perform at the Academy of Music at the Fall 2023 Festival.
