Rachmaninoff Prize
Piano Competition
2026
The competition is open to pianists of all nationalities, ages 11–30.
Prize winners will receive cash awards and an invitation to perform at the Festival on November 8, 2026, at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia.
Application Deadline: September 15, 2026

Only memorized solo repertoire will be accepted.

Concertos and chamber music are not permitted.

Competition Categories
Group A (Ages 11–13)
Program Requirements:

One composition by Sergei Rachmaninoff
-
Maximum duration: 7 minutes
Prize:

1st Prize: $300
Group B (Ages 14–17)
Program Requirements:
-
One or more compositions by Sergei Rachmaninoff and/or another Russian composer
-
Maximum duration: 25 minutes
Prize:
-
1st Prize: $700
Group C (Ages 18–30)
Program Requirements:
-
One or more compositions by Sergei Rachmaninoff and/or another Russian composer
-
Maximum duration: 45 minutes
Prize:
-
1st Prize: $1,000
Competition Rules
The jury reserves the right to divide prizes or to withhold prizes if, in its judgment, no participant meets the required standard.
The jury panel will be announced after the list of participants has been finalized. Jury members whose students are participating in the competition will not serve as judges.
If prize winners are unable to travel to Philadelphia for the festival performance, they will remain eligible to receive their awards by mail.
Participants who do not receive cash prizes but successfully pass the audition may be invited to perform at the Festival on November 8, 2026, at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia.
